It’s great to meet new program staff coming into town from the wilderness. Two new therapists caught our attention: Rachael Schneider and Derrick Cook. Rachel comes from a field staff perspective in providing youth in treatment what they can do to change themselves, and Derrick has a history in working in the industry at Wilderness Quest in working with those in recovery. Thanks to Shayne Gallagher for coming our way!

Dr Burdick in Toronto!
True to my International Consultant and Agent vocation, an overdue trip to Canada was successful in making connections with three outstanding institutions and individuals. ARROWSMITH is one such school that promotes the remediation and welfare of learning disabled youth with important research contributors. Similar to the US, youth who do not graduate secondary school have few choices. For those who need vocational training, colleges such as Humber offer some genuine opportunity, and they offer special services for students with disabilities (http://studentservices.humber.ca/ssd/).
Northwoods Graduates~
Celebrating some of my new graduates from a gem of a program up in the great Northwest. It’s a tremendous feeling of satisfaction in knowing that I chose the right program for these two graduates when both agreed that there was nothing they would change about the programs ~ they “changed” themselves. As one said, “I met the challenge, and succeeded.” The parents now tell others of the benefits of boarding for youth.
ACFP
American College of Forensic Psychology is a semi annual conference for expert witness psychologists who wish to further their knowledge of current trends in court environment. I attend this training every six months to maintain my level of expertise and professionalism. This time it’s in San Francisco, one of my favorite cities.
Promises Malibu
